My love of dogs started from a very young age when my family got a miniature poodle,  I was a year old.  We named her Paula.  Paula and I formed a strong bond, and she slept with me until I was a junior in high school.  It was a very sad time in my life when she passed.  

I knew I wanted my life's work to involve dogs. My mom found an ad in the paper for a dog bather at a local salon and she drove me out every weekend through middle school to bathe dogs and watch the groomers groom them.  

I then worked every summer and weekend through high school, learning to groom.  When I was about 18 years old, I worked at a couple local salons and a pet store before going on to open my own salon with my friend and business partner Cari Haider in 1992.  

The business took off right away.  The name Shear Heaven was my life long dream for my own dog grooming business.  

I owned standard poodles in my twenties and showed them in both conformation and obedience.  

Grooming has been a part of my life for almost as long as I can remember, and dog behavior is my passion.  I currently raise and show french bulldogs and cannot imagine my life without dogs.
